Civic Leaders Fellowship provides paid internships

PARKERSBURG — Eighteen students have returned to the Mid-Ohio Valley working in local nonprofits, businesses and government agencies this summer as a part of the Civic Leaders Fellowship Program offered by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation & Regional Affiliates.
The seven-week program enters its 10th year of bringing local college students back to their hometowns to find meaningful paid work experiences and to make connections while contributing to their communities.
“It has been a pleasure to work with so many engaged, committed young leaders from the PACF’s service region,” said Alicia Beeson, Civic Leaders program director. “Their visions for our communities are compelling, and I believe that we can work towards them together.”

Through the Program, each Civic Leader also will spend their Mondays engaging with one another, learning about the community’s needs and issues and exploring personal and professional development opportunities.
Second-year Civic Leaders spend their Mondays furthering their leadership studies, visiting area nonprofit organizations, assessing community needs, and learning about community grantmaking.
